Indicative figures, as per bank rules — the bank's final rate, fees and tenure decide the actual EMI. Subsidy timing depends on the DISCOM inspection and the PM Surya Ghar portal.
Subsidy lowers your loan
PM Surya Ghar subsidy (up to ₹78,000) comes after the net meter — put into the loan, it cuts the number of EMIs while the EMI stays the same.

Your bill pays the EMI
The monthly bill saving usually covers most of the solar EMI — and after the loan ends, the power is free for decades.
How is EMI calculated?
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1) — P = loan amount, r = monthly rate (yearly rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100), n = months.
- Example: ₹1,80,000 at 5.75% for 10 years = ₹1,976/month
- Subsidy ₹78,000 put into the loan, same EMI → only 60 EMIs instead of 120

How is EMI calculated?
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1). P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (yearly rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of monthly instalments. With a fixed rate every EMI is the same amount; in the early months more of it goes to interest, later more goes to the principal.
What is the EMI for a 3 kW solar system?
For a loan of ₹1,80,000 at 5.75% for 10 years, the EMI is about ₹1,976 a month. When the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy goes into the loan about a month later and the EMI stays the same, you pay only about 60 EMIs instead of 120.
What interest rate do banks charge on a solar loan?
It depends on the bank and changes with the RBI repo rate. Our calculator starts at 5.75% for a solar loan; your bank confirms the final rate in the sanction letter. Zento Solar prepares the loan file and quotation for you.
Does the PM Surya Ghar subsidy reduce my EMI?
The subsidy is credited after the net meter and DISCOM inspection. When it goes into the loan, the loan balance drops at once — the EMI amount usually stays the same and the number of EMIs falls sharply (as per your bank's rules).
